Strengthening
Strengthening exercises are used to increase the strength of skeletal muscle. Typically, some form of resistance is used during strength training. Some forms of strength training include isometrics, isotonics, and isokentics.
Strength is often lost after an injury, illness or surgery and strengthening is an integral part of your rehabilitation.
Strong muscles are essential for normal musculoskeletal function. Strengthening increases your tolerance for physical activity, improves balance and coordination.
